- I have now had Total Hip Replacements for both my right hip (2/14/17) and left hip (3/19/24) by Dr. Southerland. Total Joint Replacement is a life changing experience. 9 days post surgery and I am walking without pain. Sure the incision and muscle are tender, but all joint pain is gone.

- I saw Dr. Southerland for meniscus issues on both knees. I had been to two other doctors. Everyone is so kind and friendly. Dr. Southerland gave me options. We did not go straight to surgery and he is trying an injection which so far is working out great. Iām hoping to have the other one done in two weeks. I have found the best choice for me. He takes time to explain your condition and covers what he thinks is the best plan for you. He is very professional, confident and friendly. I feel very lucky to have found this practice and provider. Update: Injections are working great. We are going to continue with these as long as possible. Took current X-rays and determined no knee replacements necessary. Got both knees injected 01/11. Will continue this program until things change. Dr Southerland is the best.

Everyone was so patient and sympathetic to my pain, doing everything possible to assist me in managing the pain and making me as comfortable as possible. - Dr Southerland performed a hip replacement for me after breaking my femur in a ski-mountaineering accident. Happy to say that was able to return to hiking/backpacking soon afterwards and summited Grand Teton less than 3 month later, 40+ days skiing the following winter. - The lady who checked me in at the front desk was very efficient and kind. When I realized I had forgotten my hip replacement journal encouraged me to get it from my car. She assured me I had time to do that before my appointment. Upon retrieving it, rather than making me wait in line again, she took a moment to hand me the clipboard to give to the MA. - Great. I went for a second opinion and without prompting he completely concurred with my scheduled treatment. What I liked most about Dr. Southerland was that he looked me in the eye as we discussed my issues, and there was nothing rushed about the appointment. Too often now, physicians have their heads buried in a computer and there is a loss of connection to the person. Dr. Southerland felt more like a buddy who wanted to hear my story and give me his advice. When we discussed that I had an appointment with another surgeon to complete my partial hip replacement, he was complimentary and supportive of the other practitioner. When we were done with the consult I felt confident of the treatment plan as well as the physician who would be performing it. I think the best thing I can say about Dr. Southerland is that if he did not instill such confidence in me about who was going to perform my surgery, I definitely would have asked if he would be able to be my attending physician.

- Right hip replaced by Dr. Southerland February 2. Walked unaided for the first checkup February 10 with 'no noticeable limp,' and cleared to resume driving. Had the first PT appointment February 15 with no need for any further PT, progress was going so well. Exceptionally fast healing and recovery. - I went to Dr. Sutherland to discuss getting a total hip replacement. I am a 67-year-old overweight woman who could not get anyone to help me until I lost a tremendous amount of weight, which would have taken a long time because I wasnāt able to walk anymore without the use of a walker and pain medication. Dr. Sutherland understood that I was between the proverbial rock and a hard place and took my.csse. He was supportive if my situation yet firm with his expectations. My surgery was scheduled and a couple months later I had my surgery which went perfectly, no complications. I have one more hip and two knees to go and I wouldnāt think of going to anyone else but him.

- I went to Dr. Southerland for a second opinion on a knee replacement operation I had in late January. Dr. Southerland was recommended by my physical therapist. Dr. Southerland checked all aspects of my operation and reported that the surgery was done correctly and that the hardware was a good fit. Throughout the exam Dr. spoke in terms I understood. When I was completed with my exam he concluded I was a slow healer. I went in looking for a second opinion, but left wishing I had come earlier and had Dr. Southerland perform the procedure.

- I have been dealing with hip pain a good part of my adult life. As a former dancer and currently a yoga and PE teacher, I am accustomed to a very active lifestyle. When I met with Dr.Southerland, the pain in my right hip had reached a point that I was having great difficulty performing my work. A teacher that once did everything with her students was having trouble squatting down to tie a tennis shoe. I was depressed. Dr. Southerland was a compassionate listener, and after his examination, he advised hip replacement surgery. I have never had any surgery before, and I was a very anxious patient. - Doctor Stephen R Southerland and his staff at Rebound did an outstanding job with my total hip replacement surgery today, in fact my surgery was at 7:30 am and I am now sitting in my recliner at home by 3:30pm! Everyone was very professional and there were no surprises as they covered everything to expect and prepare for in a class prior to surgery. i was able to walk an hour after surgery using a walker while experiencing minimal pain. - I saw Dr. Southerland last October for a tib/fib fracture. He was great and very kind. He made me feel comfortable and always explained what was happening prior to surgery and post op. He had a great way of easing my stress and anxiety, in what was probably one of the most stressful and scary time of my life. I took a long time to heal but I'm walking and almost back to normal. - Rebound is an outstanding medical provider. From the surgeon to the physical therapist the people are professional, effective and friendly. The patient always comes first. I would say that Dr. Southerland is an exceptional surgeon. The fact that he is surrounded by exceptional people make the sum sum total of a traumatic experience seem easy and the final result outstanding.

- Appointment was on time, and intake and X-rays quick and efficient. Dr Southerland is super! Interested and responsive to question. Very personable. Answered all my questions, even one that was off topic of visit, but ortho related. Previous visit he referred me to another specialist in their group for another issue - that too was excellent!

- Doctor Southerland a meniscus surgery for me and did a fantastic job. I was prescribed Hydrocordone for pain, I only had to take the pain medication for the first day following surgery. I healed quickly and am very pleased with the results, he was very informative about the procedure and during my recovery.

- I have been seeing Dr Southerland for a few years now. I just had my second knee surgery with him. He has been a great physician and is very good at looking at all options of treatment before going to surgery. He also has treated my wife and replaced one of her knees and she has had no trouble since the replacement in 2008.

- I have been a patient of Dr Steve for 2+ years. I have problems with both knee's and hips. He corrected misinformation I received from a previous DR. He is always friendly, kind, gentle, knowledgeable, and explains things in plain English. He answers all my questions that is humanly possible. He did surgery on my right knee and it turned out perfect. My left knee was damaged by a previous surgery with a Oregon Dr.and he keeps on top of the nerve and knee damage and gives me updates. I highly recommend Dr. Stephen Southerland.
