- Dr.Karvelas is one of the most caring doctors I have ever been a patient of. He went out of his way to have a phone consultation with my cardiologist to get the ok to perform the nuroyransmitot to be placed in my cervical so I can decrease my chronic pain and I experience 24/7 My pain level is a 10+. . Dr. Karvelas caused me to be so at peace when I was entering the operating room I was not fearful at all. If you do not know about the trial Procedure I had done. He place two lead wires next to my spinal column that send electrons to my pain receptors in my brain that lower the pain I have in my body that’s attached to a battery pack. They called This a trial to see if it helps you with pain and I’m very happy to say that this is working so I will be having removed in seven days, going in for another surgery to have it permanently put in I cannot be more thankful for his work in this area. This is my final hope to have my pain haven’t even manageable. I would suggest this to anyone that had chronic pain throughout their body, all my nerves are damaged N my body. For this trial I am so grateful it worked.

- As an ER nurse with a BSN and over 10 years practicing as a healthcare worker myself, I recently consulted Dr. Nicolas Karvelas about lower back pain treatment options. My experience was entirely positive, supported by several objective observations: Thoroughout the consultation, Dr. Karvelas used visual aids and patiently spent his time explaining injection procedure options, including ensuring I understood all risks and benefits and likely outcomes, enabling a thoroughly informed decision. Despite evident office challenges that day (they were having some electronic health record system outages), he never rushed our appointmentd apologized profusely for keeping me waiting only about five minutes, which was not at all necessary but very kind, and answered every one of my questions attentively. Having previously received an SI joint injection from Dr. Karvelas without complications, and being informed by this doctor that he had previously done thousands of the injections that we were discussing (which would be closer to my spine), I also felt confident in his skills and abilities to safely treat me. His explanations were clear, addressing all concerns and preparing me fully for the procedure. Based on my professional experience with having worked with hundreds of doctors over the course on my career, Dr. Karvelas’ level of attentiveness, clearly genuine care for his patients, and skill, is rare. For anyone seeking interventional spine care or physical medicine and rehabilitation, I highly recommend Dr. Karvelas based on this evidence of his exceptional practice standards. My past visits with him have also been no different than this description. I do not at all give this recommendation lightly or often, but I truly have no hesitation recommending him to anyone at all who could possibly benefit from the services/expertise he provides. The patients in the area are truly lucky to have him here, myself included.

While my injury happened outside of U.S. he was very thorough to make suggestions to do his best to get me healthy again! On August 13th I had another follow up appointment, since I'm still having discomfort he's set me up for MRI on Sept 10th, since my fall took place May 26th. - Superb physician! He is skilled at what he does. Dr Karvelas is very thoughtful towards the patient and the staff that work with him, both in the office and the hospital setting. Perhaps you have persistent back and leg problems as I did. You're not looking for surgery but would like to know the most likely diagnosis and possible treatment options that might include back injections. Dr Karvelas is thorough in his review of your old records and Xray and MRI reports. He is prepared to see you on your first visit. He will think through your problem with you and order appropriate tests and see you again and discuss the options. When treatment time comes and if you need a back injection, you'll find him to be very talented and experienced and he talks you through your anxiousness as he does the procedure. Highly recommended Physiatrist.

I recently was referred to rebound physiatry and had never heard of it before so I was nervous about my newly injured back (mri shows a bulging disk with arthritis and verve pinching). Dr. Karvelas has been recommending options that work for me and doesn’t push for invasive treatments without first trying less invasive which I respect and admire about him. Thank you Dr!

- The medical treatment here is extremely caring & on point. There are many hoops to jump through for insurance purposes, so be patient. I think Dr Karvelas is extremely competent, kind, compassionate, and very handsome. His sidekick John makes the procedure not quite as bad as he told cute jokes and held my hand as Dr Karvelas quickly and carefully did his work. I can't thank you all enough.

- Dr. Karvelas is doing a great job of trying to alleviate the pain I have in my legs. The injections are somewhat helpful. I exercise daily by walking, stretching, biking, and playing golf, but I fear losing my somewhat limited mobility.

- I couldn't be more grateful to Dr Karvelas and SNDC. I don't want to sound dramatic but, I was at the end of my rope before I was referred here. SNDC listens, cares, examines, advises, and treats. The injections Dr Karvelas does for me actually work. I don't know what he does thats better than other places I've been but the relief I get when he does it is a comfort. I also didn't just get treatment and sent out the door, I've been talked "with" about weight, and anti inflammatory foods. Asked if PT works or is it just a waste of time... I get some kind of exam with every visit and films are updated when needed and not when they're unnecessary. Dr Karvelas and SNDC saved my life and gave me as much life and mobility back that I can get with my conditions.

- Each visit with Dr Karvelas or his P.A.'s I'm net with actual concern about my issues. Whether its how I'm able to do things or how I will be doing things, they ask me about them. The care Dr Karvelas gives when I've had questions and especially when I'm getting my shots is evident by how he explains what he's going to do each step of the way and when I might feel the benefit of it. I also find Dr Karvelas and Dr Joves' youtube video's helpful and they cover many subjects in their area. It has information on some things I can do, or try, that might help me and you can search them on the subject you might be interested in. I'm so glad I found Dr Karvelas and SNDC.

- Because of the virus I had my first appointment with Dr. Karvelas via the internet. He was so nice and caring regarding my situation. After my MRI he personally called me and advised me with such a caring attitude. For now I will hope to be able to see him in the future.
