- Dr Ashok Modha, MD, Neurosurgeon is an excellent Neurosurgeon. I have now had 3 corrective spine surgeries in his care, 2 in 2006 and 1 in December, 26, 2023 with all of them having been fully successful. In his care at all 3 sites, I went from having excruciating and debilitating pain to no pain in the involved sites after healing at the surgical sites have occurred. Unfortunately, due to DJD, I am currently dealing with multiple disc sites that are in need of intervention and Dr Modha is addressing those as conservatively as possible so as to avoid unnecessary surgery if possible. I respect him for that and completely entrust my care to him. Dr Modha is very soft-spoken, humble and calm. He listens well and displays genuine care of his patients. He has a reassuring, warm, but realistic bed-side-manner that results in my fully trusting him to be able to create an optimal surgical outcome if it is possible to obtain one. Modha does careful diagnostic work-ups through imaging, and further consultation when warranted. Dr Modha is patient in listening to my questions and clarifying any concerns I have before making suggestions on how to best proceed. In my current situation he has also called in consultation with my PCP and one of his colleagues so that together we can figure out the best course of care moving forward. ————————————————————————- Formerly in 2004, I saw another Rebound Provider, Dr Ragsdale, MD, (now retired), Orthopedic Surgeon, after I sustained a very seriously fractured shoulder that required full reconstruction. 2004 was a long recovery year too after surgery involving placement of 3 titanium grapples with lines attached that now keep the ball of my shoulder joint in it’s socket. Now it is 20 years since I left Dr Ragsdale’s care and I have virtually no pain and was able to get back nearly full range of motion in my shoulder and dominant arm. ————————————————————————- I have recently met with Dr Ragel, MD, Rebound Neurosurgeon after being referred by Dr Modha. Though I have not interfaced extensively with him yet, he too presents as being very competent and caring. Overall, my experience of the Rebound Neurosurgery and Orthopedic Surgery groups is that they have a stellar practice and I will always make the Rebound MDs, NPs, PAs, PTs and very caring and professional Support Staff my provider of choice for bone and nerve related medical issues. - Amazing Doctor he’s not a rush to cut guy. But if you need it to be he’s right there. I had issue with blown disk effecting my ability to walk probably. MRI and surgery done with in three weeks. So far so good it’s been 3 months and I can control my leg again. It’s not 100% but it takes upwards of a year to heal completely.

- I work as a nurse in one of the Hospitals where Dr. Modha performs surgery. I have provided care for several of his surgical patients as a post-op nurse for Same Day Surgery. When I knew I may need spinal surgery I specifically asked to be referred to him. All of the Rebound doctors are wonderful. He is exceptional. A Professional bedside manner, straight forward, kind to his patients and to his staff, as well as positive patient feedback are some of the reasons I feel confident in his care. I had my consultation with him today. The office is nice and clean. The secretary you first talk to when you check in acts and dresses professionally. The only thing disappointing was the wait from the time I got there and to when I saw the doctor was more than 30 minutes. I didn’t get upset because I figured he was spending the time he needed to with his patients before me. I haven’t had my surgery yet, but I feel confident that Dr. Modha is the best choice in neurosurgeons for me.

Though my condition has progressively worsened since a back injury from a car accident six months ago, he did not recommend surgery, but his warm and honest manner along with his explanation inspired a lot of trust. - Dr Modha was willing to assist me with required surgery on my spine when other doctors turned me away. He was very straight forward explaining what needed to be done, the risks and possibility of the surgery not curing the problem. The surgery appears to be helping me and the road to recovery may take a while. The pain from the surgery disappeared after a week or so and I have to thank Dr Modha for his precise and accurate surgical method.

- I have known since last july that something wasnt right with me physically and/or neurologically. Mid july i woke up one morning wth excruciating pain in my neck. The pain was so bad it made me nauseous and i couldnt hold my head up because it hurt so much. I lay in bed for 3 days,popping excedrine for migraines,ibuprofen, acetaminophen, using cbd oil,bengay,everything i could think of to try to make the pain go away. I couldnt even cry because crying made the headache tied to my mysterious neck pain worse. It finally subsided and thats when i began noticing i had no balance,i was unsteady on my feet,i was wobbly when i walked and none of it i had any control of. Then the stumbling and falling began. I was constantly dropping things,i wouuld hit my head on stuff ALL THE TIME. And i had no control of any of these things either. So in sept i went to my dr and told her something was wrong. She could very obviously see my unsteady gait,the weakness in my arms,etc. Bloodwork was done but no answers were found there either. Well in dec of 2020,because of the caring and attentive drs and neurologists that all are on the Peace Health Hospital roster,a diagnosis was found,and not a moment too soon. Dr Modha will b doing surgery on my spine friday morning and its a procedure that is probably gonna save my life and preserve,if not,enhance my quality of life. He is so very personable and his bedside manner is second to none. The staff at Rebound are all wonderfully warm and gracious people.. i feel so blessed to be in the very capable hands of Rebounds Drs and staff...Thank You

- I had progressive sciatic pain for almost four years. Dr Modha performed a hemilaminectomy on two discs. I literally walked the first day without pain. I didn't even need my pain meds for surgical pain. In 8 days I went for a hike. No pain. I didn't have to go to my 1 month follow up visit because I was pain free. No need for therapy. I am 67 years old and 3 months post surgery I am pain free and active. The doctor is a pro!

- I did not know what to expect during the first visit. Dr. Mohda was calming in his demeanor. He explained what was what and what to expect. Calmed our fears. When asked his honest medical opinion he gave it in such a calming and reassuring way. He gave us information to read answered my questions in such a way i felt good about my visit with him. After my first visit I was a little overwhelmed and pleased that he went into complete details about his part of the surgery, and how and Dr. Furr had already discussed the plan on working together to make a better me. - Dr. Modha working with Dr. Gambee gave me back my life.I went through 18 months on very intense pain with levels 7 to 9. I was originally in Kaiser, and after 6 months with no help (they didn't even do an MRI) I changed health plans at work and found Rebound clinic.I went though long term use of oxycodone, had 7 spinal injections, was on ice packs every 4 hours around the clock, a mind numbing experience. MRIs showed some disk damage and due to the intense pain levels, surgery was done to repair the disk. This did not solve the pain. Dr. Gambee and Dr.Modha isolated the pain more specifically with injections and two months later did a more extensive surgery to clean out bone spurs on the nerve (as I understand it). They were both very patience and compassionate in diagnosing and correcting the source of the pain. I have had as close to 100% recovery as possible. No pain with normal activity. I am 66, very active with swimming or workout daily. Dr. Modha (with Dr. Gambee) restored my life. Highly recommended.
