As a Critical Care RN for many years and a former colleague of his I have to say he is the most competent neurosurgeon I've ever met or worked with. - I have been a patient regarding various needs for over 10 years. I feel so blessed by these provides. Before Rebound another clinic told me I would be in a wheelchair by 2008. It is now 2023 and I still hike, participate in long walks, work and more. I am 75 years old and very active thanks to the knowledge and care provided by the Rebound staff. Dr. Shanno performed my first back surgery! He will be my "back" doctor as long as we both can be.

- Dr Shanno performed meningioma surgery on me in 2006 and I had a full recovery. Saw him last for a sciatica issue. We looked at the mri and X-ray images together. He recommended a conservative approach at this time. He is a great doc.

I am lucky that he was able to use three artificial discs and not have to do a fusion in between because my neck feels normal now, with no restriction. - So I first met Shanno during the start of the lockdown so my appointment was awkward. It wasn’t for few months till I could have my ALIF surgery done I was nervous cause I have had this issue for many years. I was being seen at another clinic doing multiple RFAs and cortisone injections that’s would give minor relief so I got frustrated and reached out to rebound clinic and after my surgery I was in a lot of pain but I could stand up straight something I couldn’t do for years. But the told me to walk and walk and walk and I did and that helped with the pain after surgery unfortunately after one week of physical therapy I chose to leave my job and go to better job with a new fresh start without pain the shanno could help me with. The only thing negative I could say is some of his assistants could be more helpful to the patients but I couldn’t be that mad cause all the other stuff they may have dealt with during the pandemic. After 30 more days I would like to schedule my follow up with Shanno to thank him in person.

- Excellent surgeon! First, let me say that De Shanno has operated on the following areas, Cervical 4,5,6 excellent results. Two L3-4, and finally a complete spinal fusion with disc’s. I am a type A personality and probably wanted my recovery to be better and faster than humanly possible. Consequently, I probably went too fast on my exercise program and therefore had a couple of set-backs. At this time, I am better off where I am than to not have had these surgeries. His bed side manner can be a little gruff at times. But, I suppose that when he is in such high demand and as many patients that pull on him I guess I would tend to be a little gruff too. Follow his rules and do very well.

- Went to first visit using a cane, so much pain they had to use a wheelchair when I left. I had been having a series of injections in my low back for over 10 years with only short term relief along with pain medication. Surgery was scheduled with Dr. Shanno for my low back in about 10 days. I call it a miracle and Dr. Shanno a miracle worker! Day surgery. Within 2 weeks I was feeling very good and within aa month I was out working in my garden, rototilling, planting, hauling both dirt and bark dust ( a yard of each) to my garden and flower beds. Without ANY pain and no pain medication. I had been on both morphine for pain and hydrocodone for breakthrough pain. No fun at all, an ice bag was my best friend for months. I bless the day that I saw Dr. Shanno. I am convinced his hand was guided by God and will always thank him for the relief he brought to me and had my life back again.

Everything from the consultation appointment to the follow up post surgery was smooth and as easy as lower back surgery can be. - August of 2006 I was at home with a horrible headache. I went to Kaiser on Interstate and my Husband was told that I was in grave condition. I had a brain bleed and needed to be seen at S.W. Medical Center in Vancouver. Dr Shanno spoke with my Husband and he said, "Your Wife had a aneurysm burst, but with surgery she will be alright" I thank God for Dr. Shanno he and the Team did a great job! I would have No Other Dr. operate on my brain at all. I am still alive and it's been 11 year's! Thank You Dr.Shanno
