- We hear about Dr. Borus’s stellar reputation prior to meeting him and he exceeded our expectations. He is a strong communicator and excellent listener. His calm demeanor was very helpful. His surgical skills are “ the best. “ My knees had deteriorated to the point where a wheel chair was probable in the near future. The first replacement went beautifully and the knee is in better shape than it has been in many years. I am looking forward to my second replacement with Dr. Borus and return to an active lifestyle that my family and I could only have dreamed of. - This was my first meeting with Dr Borus, he is very professional and personable. Dr Borus explained and showed an Xtau of the hip that has been bothering me for months. Not only did he have the X-ray right there on the computer but he also was able to show me and describe the procedure he uses in taking care of the problem for good. I particularly like the part where he he actually show how he would take care of getting rid of the arthritis and replacing what needs to be replaced to make me a happy functional person again. I am looking forward to having this replacement surgery and being out of the pain it is causing me. - I couldn’t have had a better experience than the one I had at Northwest Ambulatory Surgery Center. I arrived a bit nervous and uncertain at how things were going to go. My worries were quickly eased when Dr Borus stopped by to see me before my surgery to answer any lingering questions I might have. He has a peaceful countenance and was a very calming presence— just what I needed before heading to the OR. Then the anesthesiologist, Dr Calkins, came to start the process of administering the nerve blocks, explaining everything he was doing as he went along—he was so reassuring before, during, and after my surgery. I’ve had several surgeries in my lifetime and I would say he is one of the best!! All of the nurses were exemplary, from beginning to end. They exhibited a professionalism combined with kindness and gentle care throughout my stay at the surgery center. For anyone considering total knee replacement surgery in the Vancouver- Portland area I highly recommend the Rebound Group and specifically, Dr Todd Borus, along with his PA Angel, who is just a wonderfully caring and knowledgeable person. Having my surgery done at the NWASC rather than a traditional hospital was the best decision for me personally. I’m on post-op Day 3 and am doing really well recovering at home with my family taking care of me. - I came to Rebound for a second opinion on previous procedures done elsewhere to my right foot and knee which i didnt feel corrected my issues. I began with Dr Carey with my foot first. He was very thorough and after much discussion helped me determine that my knee, not my foot was most likely the primary source of my pain. He referred me to his partner Dr. BORUS, whom I was so thankful to be seen by the very next week. Dr.Borus made me feel very reassured that he could fix my problem and give me a good outcome. - Doc Boris is the BEST. This is my second knee replacement with him. I'm now in my second week getting through the initial healing phase. I'd advise not having both done at the same time. - Dr Borus performed my total knee replacement using the MAKO robotic system. The technology addresses many of the issues with older surgical methods. Three days post surgery I have near full range of motion and am walking without an assistive device. This on a 76 year old knee.

- I had a total right robotic knee replacement on Nov1st. After waking up from the surgery, I could bend my knee past 90 degrees and could straighten it fully. My pain level has been minimal with just the use of Tylenol. At two weeks after surgery I was walking with no aids and my knee bend was at 128 degrees. I am almost 4 weeks post surgery and could not be happier. It is so wonderful to be able to walk with no pain. Thank you Dr Borus.

- Dr. Borus is kind, honest, and humble. During my first hip replacement consultation with him, I waited only 5mins before he walked in. He started by showing me my MRI and X-ray results, explained to me that although there is space between my socket & ball on X-ray, MRI showed this space was filled with fluid, which means I was essentially bone-on-bone. No any other surgeons I visited explained this to me. He explained everything one step further than other providers which fits my personality since I am the type who wants to understand everything. For example, when I asked if I would need to be worried about surgery causing bone spur since it has happened to a friend, he told me bone spur is very rare and only happens to men. Other providers would simply say "no, you don't need to worry about it". I had a few additional questions after the in-person consultation, I called his team and thought his assistant would answer my questions. Instead, his team arranged for Dr. Borus to call me back, and I was very moved by such a caring customer service. In fact, Dr. Borus called me back twice. I like him as a doctor, and as a human being.

- My experience with Dr Borus and his team at Rebound was outstanding when I had my right hip replaced in June. Dr Borus was a great listener, patient and very kind to me. He understood how very active I was for my grand age of 77 and assured me that I would be able to return to the active lifestyle that I had been doing. The surgery went well, and I went home the same day and started PT in the office the very next day. After a few weeks, I was outside on the trail (short walks). By the 5th week I was doing a 5 mile hike. The team at Reboound was extremely organized and walked me thru every step of the way. I would highly recommend Dr Borus as your surgeon. Just had my 1yr follow up for left hip replacement. Dr Borus is so engaging and listens with real concern He is by far and excellent doctor and kind person. He addressed all my questions yesterday.

- Dr. Borus has been quite helpful in two areas. He has performed my Left Total Knee Replacement with robotic assisted technology. The surgical outcome was perfect. He has been compassionate and caring throughout the whole process. The second area he has helped with and continues to help with is to improve the outcome of my right knee after a replacement performed by a different surgeon. Dr. Borus listens to concerns and offers suggestions. I can't be happier with his care the outcome of his work. We were able to come up with a plan and completed a revision that required scar tissue and replaced the plastic spacer. Just 24 hours out of surgery and there is considerable improvement . It’s nice to resolve an ongoing problem. Dr. Boris is great !!

- I was recommended to Dr. Borus through and friend who was 10 years post op and very happy with his result. My procedure went great and one week later I’m walking with almost no post op pain and on the road to regaining 1000% of the use of my knee for tennis, skiing, hiking and life. He uses the robot which I’m convinced results in a more precise fit and consistent outcome. I’m on the younger side and did a partial replacement before I had to give up all those things. Very glad I did and very glad Borus did the work. The Rebound clinic is very efficient and well staffed. The PT staff is great and scheduling and locations convenient. - Dr. Borus performed my partial knee replacement three years ago, and I went to him again when it came time for my second knee replacement. While shopping for insurance before this surgery, my first question to the insurer was always whether Dr. Borus was in the network because I wanted to be sure I could go to him again. When I first saw him, I appreciated that he discussed with me whether I had explored all other options rather than simply assuming that I was ready for surgery. At every appointment, Dr. Borus gave me his full attention and ensured all my questions were answered without making me feel rushed. He remembered things about my life, not just about my knee, and he knew how important it was for me to be able to return to playing Pickleball as soon as possible. - Dr. Borus took me in as a potential replacement patient four years ago, when other surgeons wouldn’t because they believed I was too young. After numerous knee surgeries over the past three decades, my knees were both beyond repair and needed total joint replacements. Arthritis, bone on bone conditions, chronic swelling, nagging pain and lack of mobility were affecting my daily life in a negative way. Dr. Borus replaced my first knee 3 years ago. He replaced my other knee couple of months ago. I owe Dr. Borus and his team great deal of gratitude for the level of professionalism and kindness they showed me during both surgeries. - Visited Dr. Borus for two bad hips. It became immediately obvious why he is so highly rated. He was an outstanding listener and asked excellent questions. He patiently guided me through my x-rays. In fact, in more depth than any other doc. Dr. Borus then presented an instructional video; he didn't just turn it on and leave, rather he elaborated and commented on finer points. He was amenable to discuss long term options and I feel I will be in good hands. Only downer, gotta wait 4 months for surgery once I commit. If you can, go to Legacy Salmon Creek. Much less hectic and crowded than Peace Southwest. And the staff seem, well, nicer!

- I had a total knee replacement with another doctor and it failed. With this knee I chose Dr Borus to do the replacement. He was wonderful!!!!!! I saw him on every visit not just a PA. I think the robotic surgery gave me a much better fit for the replacement. My recovery was amazing. I can’t recommend Dr Borus highly enough.

- Had knee surgery not a knee replacement. Dr Borus had to remove half of the meniscus on both sides of the knee.In a previous review I had given him less than 5 stars due to the fact that after 10 weeks knee was still partially disabled and some pain.We are now 4+ months post surgery and doing much better. I'm at about 75% of full use and pain is almost gone. Considering I'm almost 70 I consider this a blessing.Thank you to Dr Todd Borus and his team.

- I chose Dr. Borus and his team at Northwest Surgical Specialists and Rebound because of his/their incredible reputation in the community and along with their expertise. Dr. Borus is an expert in the Mako Robotic-Arm Assisted Total Knee Replacement. I have recently had bilateral total knee replacements by Dr. Borus approximately three months ago. I couldn't be more thrilled with my new knees. Even though it does take approximately 1 year to recover, I am back at work after three months beginning part time and ramping up to full time in a month). I won't sugar coat the recovery process as it is a lot of work. But the support that Rebound offers is of the highest standards and along with a high dose of caring and kindness. I would not hesitate to recommend Br. Borus and Rebound.

- This total knee replacement is the second I have had done. The first was done about 5 years ago in Seattle. The comparison of the two procedures the first was quite primitives compared to Dr BORUS. Recovery time was much faster with Dr. BORUS and then mobility was quicker. If I had any more knees to do i would definitely contact Dr BORUS.

- First visit. Dr Borus was very personable, listened well and explained my condition and options very well. I wasn't as enamored with the clinic. It was quite busy, we are still in a pandemic and there was no temperature screening at the door, nor signs or any mention about distancing from others in the waiting area and the bathroom wasn't as clean as it should be with tissues on the floor. But I wouldn't hesitate to see Dr. Borus or schedule needed surgery with him.

- I had received a traditional knee replacement on my right knee 18 months prior to my first visit to Rebound which was still very painful. I was so impressed with Rebound’s streamlined process of determining the extent of damage to my left knee which was in very bad condition and I could barely walk. Meeting Dr. Borus was great as he asked lots of questions plus he really listened to me and explained the procedure so precisely. He truly showed care and concern while being totally professional and so nice! When I received my Robotic-Assisted Knee Transplant it was amazing! The immediate pain after surgery was about half of my previous replacement. Within 5 days the paIn was much reduced and I was able to move around pretty well and it was 1000% better than the right leg’s replacement recovery time. I was able to drive within 3.5 weeks as I only needed serious pain meds for 5 days! It’s just 3 months since surgery and I’m now walking better than I have in 10 years. - I slipped on stairs. I broke both lower leg bones and dislocated my foot. Urgent care sent me home without setting my leg and I waited several days without so much as a prescription for pain relief as I waited for further medical help. - I had my post knee replacement one year check up but it was 6 months overdue. I called at the one year anniversary asking for an appointment and was told I would get a letter which never came. So I called again at 16 months and got an appointment within 10 days. I had X-rays and Dr. Borus reviewed them with me. Everything looks great. Dr. Borus also gave me an idea of what to expect in 3-5 years with my prosthetic as well as reviewing X-rays of my other knee. I have 100% confidence in my care at Rebound although I have had some frustrations with the office communications.

- I was very impressed with the confidence of Dr Borus. Very calm, and matter of fact about all aspects of the surgery. The surgery went well and was pretty fast, I believe I was in and out of the surgery center in about 3 hours. Pain was manageable with very few pain pills. Rehab was just like Dr. Borus explained it to be. I was back to work in one month with one visit a week continued rehab visits to get full strength back into the knee over time to zero in on specific areas in the knee. I am very pleased with all aspects of the process with the only exception being... getting in to see Dr., and then rehab, as they are in such demand, they are booked out very far into the future.

- I went into surgery with a 17mm leg length discrepancy. I discussed this with Dr. Borus at the pre-op appt. He said he could with the Mako Plasty procedure make it better. He was able to get ~10mm back, which made a huge difference. - Dating back 10 years, I walked into the hospital a full fledged cowboy with bowed legs and all. When the left knee was replaced, the bow was taken out and I become a half a cowboy. Then my left hip was replaced and I become a half assed cowboy. Following up on a right hip replacement, I went from a country music writer into a heavy metal asshole. Finally my right knee was replaced and the government changed my status as that of "a robot with a brain.". All done in 18 months. I am now approaching 82 years of age and still working in the music industry.

- Had a total left knee replacement and was very scared and pessimistic as to how it would turn out because of things that had happened earlier with my mother and her health. Other than a slight bit of contact dermatitis on my back after the surgery, which was extremely uncomfortable, the surgery and rehabilitation went well. Dr. Borus and his staff were extremely caring and attentive to me and I am doing very well in my estimation at this time of my recovery. I will have my right knee done sometime this year. - I had both hips replaced this past year, as both were deteriorated. I had broke the left hip 25 years ago, it had a plate and screws in it. I had seen a surgeon earlier who was reluctant to do a total hip replacement, and told me that he didn't think I would be able to hike much if I had a replacement. I was so happy to find a surgeon who was willing to do what needed to be done, and gave me hope that I could be back hiking again. There was no problem with this surgery. Ten weeks later Dr. Borus replaced the right hip. It took me a little longer to recover. Dr. Borus kept up with my recovery until there was no more pain, and my walk was right. I will see him again at the one year mark. I am so thankful to be able to walk without pain. I am back on the trails, even in the snow!

Physical therapy was the least satisfactory due to causing significant pain during and after sessions. After the wounds healed, I achieved complete extension and flexion in my club swimming pool. - Dr. Borus performed a total robotic right knee replacement for me in October. Three months in, except for a bit of swelling, I am 100%. I have needed this surgery for at least 15 years and reached the point where I could not take the pain any longer or the negative impact it had on my life. It was time to take some action and get this done! A good friend of mine highly recommended Dr. Borus and I made the appointment and went into this procedure 100% committed with a visualization of how I wanted to come through it from start to finish. The pain could not be any worse than I have already put up with.....right?! I am a strong and very determined lady. I could deal with this, right?! Oh jeez.....I was in the ride of my life....and so was my husband! I chose outpatient surgery and came home within hours of surgery on "cloud 9" with a body and knee pumped full of pain meds. I had already been walking the halls at the hospital and felt I was on my way. Two days later I was in the ER unable to control the pain. It felt like someone was hitting it nonstop with a hammer and I wanted to die. I'm not a person taken to tears easily, but this had reduced me to constant tears and begging God for a miracle, or at the very least, pull me up to Heaven ASAP! After a few hours in the ER and several rounds of stronger meds, I came home and thus began the most brutal, painful experience of my life thus far. I had signed up with Steve Whitaker of The Vancouver Clinic for PT since he had pulled me through several injuries with success. He was my guy. For four weeks straight I saw him twice weekly and did everything I was supposed to do on my own. He'd pull me through each session with encouragement and cheers and I'd be crying and swearing like a truck driver the whole time. We were coming up on Thanksgiving and I was not going to see him for a total week and asked for more direction on what specific exercises to do at home that would produce the best results. He kept going to a stool with wheels that would roll back and forth, bending my knee. I didn't want to buy that and told him and he then brought out a large exercise ball that I sat on and did the same rolling back and forth but I could also bounce on this getting a better range than with the rolling stool. From the very second I got on that ball, I knew that was what was going to be my salvation. My husband went to get one immediately after that appointment and I was on that every couple hours for that full week. Even at night, I would get on that ball. I could actually feel that I was breaking through scar tissue....it was amazing! Within a week when I saw Steve again, I was at full range of 120! He could not believe it and said he had never seen anyone make such a drastic recovery so quickly. I was one for the books...indeed! So, here I am. So glad I did this. My balance had improved 100%, and life is so much better with my new knee. Everyone has a different tale to tell. My advice, is to fight like hell to get through it and don't give up. Get a great surgeon and PT person and do everything they tell you and you will get there! Thank you Dr. Borus and your great team members for a job well done! God bless you all!

- For nearly a decade I suffered from frequent hip dislocations after two unsatisfying experiences with an out-of-state surgeon and staff. I reached out to many surgeons for counsel, none was willing to perform surgery on my leg again. It felt like doctors were hesitant to perform surgery where another surgeon already has; my surgeon was no longer available to me. I met Dr. Borus and was immediately comforted that he agreed to evaluate my hip. We had only begun gathering images and surgical notes when I suffered a dislocation that could not be re-set non-surgically, so my next surgery would be performed in emergency. My good fortune was that Dr. Borus was the on-call surgeon! I've teased him about what a hero he is to me, but you need to understand I was fully disabled, my quality of life felt pretty hopeless. That was almost 5 years ago. I can't ski or skydive anymore, and my hip can predict the weather sometimes, but I don't use a cane or a parking placard anymore. It still feels like the life I knew was restored for me, from depression to being extremely happy to be alive!

No narcotics needed after day 10. Walker needed first 3 days. Then used trekking poles. Walked 1/2 mile comfortably by day 10. Began driving on day 12. Right hip replaced 2018. No narcotics needed. Pain 0-1 . Walker for 9 days. Drove after 2 weeks. Walking 2 miles/day by week 3. No home help needed
