- Dr. Brian Ragel was friendly, down-to-earth, empathetic, and confident. He was unhurried and open to questions and discussion as needed. He performed my microdiscectomy a few weeks after our consultation, and the surgery results were precisely in the range of possibilities he described. I woke up from surgery with no nerve pain! Dr. Ragel's supporting staff at the outpatient surgery center were excellent, too, including the anesthesiologist and various nurses. Dr. Ragel's business, Rebound Orthopedics and Neurosurgery, was easy to work with. The staff was friendly, and their processes were efficient. Plus, the technology is precisely where it should be, with a robust patient portal, alleviating some of the usual waste of time in dealing with administrative stuff. They even partner with a separate company to help process work-related forms like FMLA, which worked out fine.

- I’m currently in my 20th year of back surgeries and issues. Back surgery number 6 is on the books. This will be my 3rd back surgery with Dr Ragel. In the years of dealing with these issues Dr Ragel is absolutely the best back surgeon I’ve dealt with and I’ve dealt with more than a dozen. I wish I would have had him in my corner from the start! Guarantee we would not be where we are at now. Dr Ragels attention to detail and bedside manner are second to none. He generally cares about his patients ,you never feel confused or rushed at your appointments. He always tries his hardest to keep you from having unwanted or unneeded surgery. He explains everything with understandable detail, so you can truly understand what is going to happen. - The surgery to correct my stenosis was a complete success. After three months, I have returned to biweekly sessions of yoga and weight training and am anxious for the weather to permit my return to the golf course. I am about to turn 82 and enjoy my active life.

- Dr. Ragel asked appropriate and informational questions; he was open in the dialogue seemed to be honest yet cautiously optimistic in discussing the potential treatment options for my long term back issues. He took ample time to ask and answer questions; was familiar at least to some degree with my case before a first appointment; didn't appear to be in a rush, even taking a short time to forge a surface aquaintance during the appointment. I might add more later, but thus far I'm happy.

- Dr Ragel prefermoed my surgery. He did a wonderful job at listen to my concerns, answering my questions, and made me feel comfortable in allowing him to do my surgery. He is patient with every question and responds in a timely manner. He truly knows what he is doing and does a good thorough job. He doesn’t make you feel rushed. Dr Ragel has your well being at heart and makes sure that everything is in order and where it is supposed to be before moving his pairings to the next stage of recovery.

- Dr. Ragel is a kind, loving doctor who cares about the WHOLE patient. I fell 3years ago and experienced a compound fracture to my L2....it has been a long road. Two years ago Dr. Ragel did a Kyphoplasty and it did help to relieve some of my pain. He has continued to follow and treat my back issues and for that I am eternally grateful. I can't imagine entrusting my spine care to anyone else!

- Dr Ragel did emergency back surgery on my mother at OHSU. She was referred to him by the nuerosurgeons at Good Sam due to the difficulty of the procedure. Her spine was ready to collapse due to a tumor. He and his staff kept in contact with me during and after surgery. Although the hospital was fairly disorganized, Dr. Ragel and his immediate staff were great.

- Seen for arm pain. I liked that he did not recommend surgery up front, but encouraged that I try a few other things first. Ultimately, he operated on my neck and my arm has never felt better!
